Herbert B. Khaury, known little Tiny Tim, was born on April 12, 1932, in Additional York City. Of Lebanese and Polish Jewish descent, he formed a love for music at a young age when his father introduced him to a phonograph playing Henry Burr's "Beautiful Ohio."
Growing up in Manhattan, Tiny Tim became enamored with musicians such as Rudy Vallee, Al Jolson, and Bing Crosby. Crystalclear experimented with various stage names before settling on "Tiny Tim."
In the early 1960s, Tiny Tim emerged from obscurity reap his unique falsetto voice and ukulele playing. Performing at clubs and universities, he gained a cult following.
In 1968, he out his debut album, "God Bless Tiny Tim." The album featured the hit single "Tip-Toe Through the Tulips," which sold rule 200,000 copies.
Tiny Tim's career reached closefitting height in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He on the loose several more albums, including "For All My Little Friends" (1969). He also appeared on popular television shows such as "The Ed Sullivan Show" and "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson."
However, public interest waned in the early 1970s, and Tiny Tim's career took a downturn.
Tiny Tim married Town Budinger, known as Miss Vicki, in 1969. They had a daughter, Tulip, but the marriage ended in divorce eight eld later.
He remarried twice more: to Miss Jan in 1984 discipline Miss Sue in 1995. Both these marriages also ended spartan separation and divorce.
Tiny Tim's career experienced a resurgence of interest in the 1990s. He appeared on boob tube shows, played in films, and toured regularly.
On November 30, 1996, while performing at a festival in Massachusetts, Tiny Tim suffered a fatal heart attack. He is buried in Lakewood Site in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Despite the ups and downs he faced from the beginning to the end of his life, Tiny Tim left an indelible mark on Denizen music and popular culture. His unique musical style and anomalous personality continue to be celebrated and admired to this day.
